Our school year will begin with the annual kick-off meeting at Moffett Road Assembly of God on Thursday, August 10th, at 6 pm.   This meeting is required for at least one parent of each family but the whole family is welcomed. Our time will begin in the Student Center (located on the North side of the Church, up the stairs, with the entry the door under the awning), with brief introductions, then families will meet with their assigned cell leaders. The evening will commence with refreshments and an Activities Expo.

This year we will again be hosting a “Stuff the Race Car” event, during Kick-off, with Kane Motorsports, benefiting Women’s & Children’s Hospital. The drivers, and their race car, will be present for interviews, autographs, and pictures with our MRCS families. We ask that you help “Stuff the Race Car” by bringing school supplies, which will go directly to the patients of Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

The hospital has a classroom, on-site, that is staffed by Mobile County teachers. However, many of these children are homeschooled due to their various ailments and/or family choice. Often, hospitalization is unexpected and they are unprepared, or unable, to gather school supplies. It is our hope that having these supplies, on-hand at the facility, will allow the families peace of mind to focus on other aspects of their child’s needs. Please bring your family to meet these amazing racers from Kane’s Warrior Kids, which benefits children suffering from cancer and other medical conditions in the local Mobile area. Learn more about this team and the children they serve at http://www.kaneswarriorkids.com.

A used curriculum sale will be held during Kick-Off, along with the Activities expo.  Table requests are limited and require a $5 refundable deposit. If you would like to reserve a table, please contact Michele Landrum, Administrator at m.landrum@mobilemrcs.org.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in hosting a table at the Activities Expo, please also contact Michele Landrum.
