MOBILE MATHEMATICS CIRCLE

We are proud to announce the 16th annual MOBILE MATHEMATICS CIRCLE, open to all local high school and middle school students. The program is jointly sponsored by the Department of  Mathematics and Statistics of the University of South Alabama and the Alabama Space Grant Consortium.
The mission of the Mobile Mathematics Circle is to introduce students to the use of mathematics as a creative thinking tool through problem solving.  Students that participate in the Math Circle encounter interesting and challenging problems. They learn to develop and critique mathematical arguments and ultimately become successful problem solvers. The curriculum of the Math Circle is a perfect fit with the new Common Core Standards for Mathematics.
The program, which is free to all students and teachers, meets every Monday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM in room 410 of the Instructional Laboratory Building on the campus of the University of South Alabama.
